Alaska Airlines Flight 35

Alaska Airlines, Nike, and Kevin Durant surprised youth basketball players with an unforgettable experience on their way to Las Vegas.

Alaska Airlines arranged a chartered flight, “Flight 35”, carrying four top youth basketball teams from Los Angeles and Oakland for the Bigfoot Hoops Las Vegas Classic. But this wasn’t just any charter flight. In conjunction with Kevin Durant and Nike, Alaska Airlines provided an unforgettable experience for aspiring young athletes from beginning to end, including a one-of-a-kind brand activation at the Oakland International Airport during a brief layover.

Results

The transformation of the gate included a custom lacing station for the new KD11 shoes each player received and breakfast bar with Alaska Airlines signature smoothies. As the players boarded the plane from Oakland, they were surprised by a new set of headphones and neck pillow to add to their swag. Oh yeah, Kevin Durant didn’t just make an appearance, but traveled with the teams from LAX to OAK and then LAS, signing autographs and taking selfies along the way.
